We are proud to have helped elect and re-elect Senator Tammy Baldwin – including her upset win against popular Republican Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson.  Heading into a difficult re-election, we helped remind voters of Baldwin’s ability to cut through bureaucratic red tape to provide “deliverables”: local accomplishments to improve the lives of Wisconsin families.  As the race closed to a toss-up – “one of the tightest campaigns in the country” – we made use of authenticity, humor, and local testimonials to expose the truth about Republican Eric Hovde.  We developed a customized brand for Hovde, a “California Banker Jerk” – who does not care about us and is not for us.  In “The Real Hovdes of Orange County,” we created a powerful parody of The Real Housewives of Orange County, revealing Hovde as the offensive, out-of-step, out-of-state jerk – that he is.  Then, through creative testimonials from farmers, grandmothers, and workers, we exposed Hovde’s extreme beliefs that would hurt Wisconsin families – from raising the retirement age and cutting Social Security to taking away people’s health care coverage. In doing so, we helped Tammy Baldwin prevail by less than one percentage point – outperforming the top of the ticket.
